Special Cases

Birthed

This one isn't really a profession :) Think of it as to which zodiac sign you'd belong if you were born on a random day in a non-leap year (365 days).

Why not a straight line? Well, each sign isn't contained in the same amount of days in a year. So if we had an infinite amount of people we'd have the same distribution.

All

Among the people entites parsed from freebase on 2014 September 22. this is the distribution of zodiac signs:

There were in fact about 3.3M person entities, but not all had birth dates in a form that could be salvaged; missing day, or even month, in most cases no birth date at all.

Simulated Earth Population

I've also generated a simulated population of our planet. I've taken estimate of people from World Meters and rounded it to something sensible.

I intentionally didn't superimpose "Birhted" onto this chart, because the main line wouldn't be visible if I did.

Members Vs Standard Deviation

This one is interesting and telling. It's, in my opinion, the reason for the subtitle.

If you have a little courage to draw a line through this dataset you will realize one thing: the more members you have in a group, there's less indication that one profession suits one sign better than the others.

If there was a dataset large enough to cover every employed person on the planet, one would realize that there is no visible or otherwise notable correlation between zodiac signs and chosen profession.
